General overview to the project

This page is going to describe the overall functionality and use cases of this project.

This project can be used with an academic advisor or standalone (the student can use it without presence of an academic advisor).

This page contains general information about the purpose of the project and what it aims at doing. It also has instructions on how to use it as a standalone website in 2 different steps. It also has an image to show where to find the catalog year on DegreeWorks.

You can click on "CLICK HERE TO SELECT PREREQ FLOWCHART" to select one of the 5 flowcharts, each corresponding to a different catalog year.

Flowcharts

Each flowchart has 5 different components:

• Instructions and Information - Displays general information for each flowchart

• Legend - Shows a legend for the arrows and colors on the flowchart

• The Flowchart - Displays a flowchart of all the classes. It can be moved around, zoomable, and clickable to show prerequisites of clicked class.

• Tools and Resources - Different resources and tools to help students with planning their semesters

• List of all classes and electives - All classes from computer science CSI catalog

Each flowchart is color coded:

• Flowchart 2013-2018 -> Green

• Flowchart 2018-2019 & Flowchart 2019-2020 -> Orange

• Flowchart 2020-2021 -> Purple

• Flowchart 2021-2022 -> Blue
